Now based in the Middle East, she has a particular interest in stories that explore resilience, cultural expression, and life in the aftermath of conflict.
Across the last eight years, she's spearheaded several written features and investigations for The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, Al Jazeera, Euronews, and others.
As a journalist, Tamara has written dispatches from Syria about the landmine crisis and interviewed Afghanistan's first female breakdancer. She's covered political rallies in Colombia, artistic rebellion in Jordan's underground hip-hop scene, and interviewed resistance fighters from the frontlines of Ukraine.
As a documentary producer, she's created poignant short-form documentaries about the plastic pollution crisis facing developing nations.
